The highly anticipated sequel to the 2023 hit, “M3GAN,” is now in production, with a theatrical release date set for June 27, 2025. The original film grossed $181 million globally, and “M3GAN 2.0” aims to build on that success with a mix of returning stars and exciting new cast members.
Returning from the original movie are Brian Jordan Alvarez as Cole and Jen Van Epps as Tess. Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, and Jenna Davis are also confirmed to reprise their roles. Joining the cast are Timm Sharp, Aristotle Athari, Jemaine Clement, and Ivanna Sakhno, bringing fresh energy and talent to the sequel.
Gerard Johnstone, who directed the first film, is back at the helm, with a screenplay penned by Akela Cooper, the writer behind the original “M3GAN.” The production continues to be a collaborative effort between Blumhouse, Atomic Monster, and Divide/Conquer, ensuring that the sequel retains the same creative vision and high-quality production values.
Jason Blum, James Wan, and Allison Williams are producing “M3GAN 2.0.” Executive producers include Michael Clear and Judson Scott from Atomic Monster, Ryan Turek from Blumhouse, and Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath from Divide/Conquer. Mark Katchur also serves as an executive producer, ensuring a robust production team behind the project.
Timm Sharp, known for his work on “Undeclared,” “Enlightened,” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” joins the cast with a diverse acting background. Sharp is represented by Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment.
Aristotle Athari, who was a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” and starred in HBO’s “Silicon Valley,” brings his comedic and acting chops to the sequel. Recently seen in “Molli and Max in the Future” and “The French Italian,” Athari is represented by CAA and Stride Management.
Jemaine Clement, best known from the comedic folk band Flight of the Conchords and his role in “Avatar: The Way of Water,” adds to the ensemble. Clement has extensive experience in comedy and production, including “Wellington Paranormal” and “What We Do In The Shadows.” He is currently working on the upcoming AppleTV+ series “Time Bandits” and is represented by UTA and Yorn Levine.
With a blend of returning favorites and new talent, “M3GAN 2.0” is set to captivate audiences once again. The production is in full swing, and fans can look forward to another thrilling and entertaining installment in the “M3GAN” saga when it hits theaters in June 2025.
