A Poet (U.S. Remake)

Director Nathan Silver and producer Saïd Ben Saïd are teaming for an American remake of A Poet, the 2025 Cannes Un Certain Regard Jury Prize winner. Silver is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with C. Mason Wells, his collaborator on Between the Temples. The English-language adaptation will transpose the original Colombian film's story of a struggling poet mentoring a teenage creative talent to upstate New York. SBS Productions is producing the project, with SBS International handling worldwide sales. Casting is currently underway, with filming scheduled for fall 2026. The remake rights were acquired by Ben Saïd, whose recent credits include Paul Verhoeven's Elle and Ira Sachs' The Man I Love.
