Project Summary
Carte Blanche is a period war thriller directed by Gerardo Herrero, based on Lorenzo Silva's award-winning 2004 novel. The film follows an eight-man Spanish Legion unit in 1921 Morocco during the Rif War, led by a revenge-obsessed sergeant after the massacre of Spanish conscript soldiers. Rising Spanish actor Iván Pellicer stars as Juan Faura, a disillusioned young legionnaire struggling to maintain his moral compass as the mission spirals into atrocity. The film was produced by Tornasol Media and Bruja del Sur Films, with participation from RTVE, Movistar Plus+, and Canal Sur. Shot over seven weeks in Almería and Granada, the production wrapped and is currently in post-production. Latido Films is handling international sales, presenting the completed film at the 2026 Cannes market.
