11-year-old Sarah had big dreams, but dreams didn’t come true for African American and Native American girls like her in the 1920s. Until one day when she was given a 160-acre plot as part of a reparation effort. The soil was too poor for farming, but Sara hoped it had oil. With big business, the courts and tradition against her, Sarah fought to find oil on her land before other groups could drill it out from under her on neighboring plots.
