The X-Files

The X-Files returns to television with a fresh take from Oscar-winning filmmaker Ryan Coogler, who writes and directs the pilot for Hulu. Himesh Patel and Danielle Deadwyler lead as two FBI agents investigating paranormal cases, joined by a notable guest cast including Steve Buscemi, Amy Madigan, and Ben Foster. The pilot is filming in Vancouver, British Columbia—the same location where the original series shot its first five seasons—with Jennifer Yale serving as showrunner and original creator Chris Carter attached as executive producer. Proximity Media produces alongside Onyx Collective and 20th Television. Production on the pilot runs through June 2026, with the project awaiting a series order from Hulu to move forward beyond the initial episode.
