Michael, a child therapist who clearly enjoys his life, his family and his job, tells a group of child patients the story of a man who used to be selfish, lazy and uninterested in love or having a family. When things are at their lowest point, the man has a run-in with Santa Claus, and afterwards finds that his whole world is populated by children–his best friend, Herbie, is now a child, his own therapist is now a child, and all the cops, security guards, mall Santas, school teachers, principals, janitors, even his wife–are all children. As Michael tells the story to his rapt audience of young patients, the man slowly discovers the true “gift” of Christmas: a new appreciation of love, family and commitment.
