Wild Bird

Wild Bird marks director Andrew Haigh's return to the story of Alexander McQueen, this time in short form for WePresent, the arts platform of WeTransfer. Russell Tovey stars as the late designer and co-wrote the screenplay, while Olivia Colman plays Isabella Blow, the fashion editor who discovered McQueen at his 1992 Central Saint Martins graduate show. The film takes an interpretive approach to their legendary friendship, imagining a road trip between the two fashion icons. Producer Susie Hall leads the production for HATO Pictures, with three-time Oscar winner Sandy Powell designing costumes. Haigh and Tovey executive produce alongside Holly Fraser and Alex Mattinson of WeTransfer. Principal photography begins this June in the United Kingdom, with the project targeting the festival circuit following WePresent's track record of Academy Award-winning shorts.
