Actors' Equity Association (AEA)

Actors' Equity Association (AEA), founded on May 26, 1913, is the U.S. labor union representing more than 51,000 professional actors and stage managers working in live theatrical performance. Equity negotiates wages, improves working conditions, and provides a wide range of benefits including health and pension plans for its members across Broadway, touring, regional theater, and other live stage productions. A member of the AFL-CIO and affiliated with FIA (the international organization of performing arts unions), Equity is governed by an elected National Council representing members across its Eastern, Central, and Western regions.
