Bad Robot Productions is an American film and television production company founded on May 27, 1999 by J.J. Abrams, who serves as Chairman and Co-CEO alongside Co-CEO Katie McGrath. The company is responsible for landmark television series including Alias, Lost, Fringe, Person of Interest, and Westworld, as well as major film franchises including Cloverfield, the Star Trek reboot trilogy, the Mission: Impossible sequels, and the Star Wars sequel trilogy. In December 2024, Bad Robot signed a first-look film and TV deal with Warner Bros., its home studio since 2006. In April 2026, the company began downsizing, closing its Los Angeles office and relocating to New York.
