Canal+ S.A. (formerly Groupe Canal+) is a French media and entertainment conglomerate founded in 1984, headquartered in Issy-les-Moulineaux near Paris. It is one of Europe's leading pay-TV operators and film financiers, with over 40 million subscribers across 70+ countries in Europe, Africa, and Asia following its 2025 acquisition of South Africa's MultiChoice Group. The group operates across the full audiovisual value chain — production, broadcasting, distribution and aggregation — through subsidiaries including STUDIOCANAL, Dailymotion, and CANAL+ DISTRIBUTION, and is the French film industry's largest financial backer. Canal+ listed on the London Stock Exchange in December 2024 after spinning off from former parent Vivendi.
