Coin Operated is a Los Angeles-based horror-focused production company founded by writer-producer-director Gary Dauberman, the multi-hyphenate behind the It, Annabelle, and The Nun franchises. Launched in 2020 alongside a first-look television deal at Universal Content Productions (UCP), the company subsequently secured a first-look feature deal with Screen Gems/Sony Pictures. Led by President Mia Maniscalco (formerly Senior VP of Creative Affairs at Amblin Partners) and Director of Development Max Lippe, Coin Operated is one of the most active horror production banners in Hollywood, with an expanding slate of theatrical features, video game adaptations, franchise reboots, and original horror projects across multiple major studio partnerships.
