Foxtail Entertainment was a Los Angeles-based multinational independent film and media production and financing company co-founded in early 2016 by producers Matthew Malek and Anita Gou, who met on the set of Martin Scorsese's Silence in Taiwan. The company targeted underserved global markets, championing female-driven and socially provocative stories across film, television, digital, and VR content. Its notable credits include the Netflix acquisition To the Bone (Sundance 2017) and the Sundance record-setting sale Assassination Nation (2018). The company was dissolved following a successful arbitration by co-founder Anita Gou (via AXQG Corp.) against Matthew Malek, with the dissolution confirmed by the California Court of Appeal in 2020.
