Legendary Pictures

Legendary Entertainment (also known as Legendary Pictures) is a leading American mass media and film production company headquartered in Burbank, California, founded in 2000 by Thomas Tull. The company operates film (Legendary Pictures), television and digital (Legendary Television and Digital Media), and comics (Legendary Comics) divisions, with Legendary Pictures-associated productions having grossed more than $20 billion worldwide at the box office. Known for blockbuster franchises including the Monsterverse (Godzilla/Kong), the Dune series, Jurassic World, The Dark Knight Trilogy, and Interstellar, it has established itself as one of Hollywood's premier production and co-financing entities. As of 2024, ownership shifted to equal partnership between management and Apollo Global Management after the buyout of Wanda Group's majority stake, and as of September 2025, the company holds a new three-year worldwide distribution deal with Paramount Pictures.
