About
Louverture Films is a New York-based independent production company co-founded in 2005 by actor Danny Glover and producer Joslyn Barnes, producing films, series, interactive projects, and artworks of historical relevance, social purpose, commercial value, and artistic integrity. Named after Haitian revolutionary leader Toussaint Louverture, the company is renowned for its partnerships with world-class filmmakers from the global South and historically marginalized communities, with an acclaimed slate spanning arthouse fiction and documentary. Notable titles include the Palme d'Or-winning Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives, Oscar-nominated Nickel Boys, Capernaum, Hale County This Morning This Evening, and Strong Island. The company has recently expanded into scripted and non-fiction series, animation, installation works, and interactive projects.
