Mattel Films & Television

Mattel Films & Television refers to the combined in-house entertainment production operations of Mattel, Inc. — comprising Mattel Films (launched 2018) and Mattel Television (relaunched 2019) — which developed, produced, and co-produced film and television content based on Mattel's portfolio of iconic toy brands. On June 2, 2025, both divisions were formally merged into a single unified banner called Mattel Studios, led by Robbie Brenner as President and Chief Content Officer. Mattel Films' most notable achievement was co-producing the 2023 blockbuster Barbie (directed by Greta Gerwig), which grossed over $1.4 billion globally and earned multiple Academy Award nominations, cementing Mattel's position as a major Hollywood content player.
