Paramount Players

Paramount Players is an American film production label and division of Paramount Pictures, founded on June 7, 2017, by then-Chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos, originally focused on developing and producing genre and contemporary films drawing from Viacom/Paramount Global brand IP including Nickelodeon, MTV, BET, and Comedy Central properties. In March 2022, the division's standalone operations were folded into the broader Paramount Pictures Motion Picture Group under co-heads Daria Cercek and Michael Ireland, with the label retooled to focus on genre originals, Paramount+ content, and IP adaptations. The label has produced notable films including Nobody's Fool (2018), Dora and the Lost City of Gold (2019), Smile (2022), Mean Girls (2024), and Smile 2 (2024). As of 2025–2026, Paramount Players continues as a production imprint within Paramount Skydance Corporation following Skydance Media's acquisition of Paramount Global.
