Smokestack Films is a New York-based independent film and television production and development company founded by producer Chris Bongirne in 1989, taking its name from the coal-rich area of Pennsylvania where Bongirne grew up. The company has executive produced a wide range of feature films and TV projects, including the critically acclaimed Marshall (2017) starring Chadwick Boseman, Plan B and The Binge for Hulu, and The Virtuoso with Anthony Hopkins. Smokestack works across feature films, documentaries, and television, collaborating with major talent and financiers on bold, socially relevant stories.
