Storybuilders, LLC is Netflix's affiliated production arm, established to produce feature film content intended for first-window exhibition exclusively on the Netflix streaming platform. The entity functions as Netflix's internal production company under which 'Netflix Original' theatrical motion pictures are formally produced and credited. Storybuilders, LLC is a signatory to the WGA Theatrical and Television Basic Agreement (MBA) by virtue of a Letter of Adherence, with Netflix Entertainment, LLC serving as guarantor of its MBA performance obligations. It gained industry prominence through a landmark 2022 WGA arbitration over writer residuals on the film Bird Box, which resulted in $42 million in additional residuals paid to 216 writers across 139 Netflix-produced films.
