Youtube Originals

YouTube Originals was the film and television production division of YouTube (a subsidiary of Google/Alphabet Inc.), launched in 2016 to develop premium scripted and unscripted original programming exclusive to YouTube Premium (formerly YouTube Red). The division produced award-winning series, documentaries, and creator-driven content, amassing billions of views before being shut down in January 2022. Its most notable project, the scripted drama 'Cobra Kai,' was subsequently acquired by Netflix. YouTube has since redirected content investment toward its YouTube Partner Program, Black Voices Fund, YouTube Kids Fund, and Shorts Creator Fund rather than centralized original productions.
