YouTube Red Originals

YouTube Red Originals (later rebranded YouTube Originals) was the original content production division of YouTube, launched in 2015 under the YouTube Red premium subscription service. Led by Global Head of Original Content Susanne Daniels, the division produced scripted series, unscripted shows, documentaries, and live events featuring both professional talent and YouTube creators, including notable titles such as Cobra Kai, Impulse, Mind Field, and Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil. In 2018, YouTube Red was rebranded as YouTube Premium, and the originals division shifted from subscriber-exclusive scripted programming to free ad-supported unscripted and documentary content. In January 2022, YouTube officially wound down the YouTube Originals program entirely, with Daniels departing in March 2022.
