About
Andrew Lazar (born 1966) is an Academy Award-nominated American film and television producer who founded Mad Chance Productions in 1995, operating with a first-look deal at Warner Bros. After graduating from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts with degrees in film production and political science, he rose through the ranks at Dino DeLaurentiis Communications before striking out independently. His career spans three decades and includes landmark productions such as American Sniper (2014) — the highest-grossing domestic release of that year with six Oscar nominations — as well as 10 Things I Hate About You, Nyad (Netflix, 2023), and the Showtime limited series George & Tammy. He is currently producing the crime thriller Kockroach (starring Channing Tatum and Zazie Beetz), Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice for 20th Century, and developing a Marvin Gaye biopic.
