Bernard Telsey (born February 8, 1960, in Elmont, New York) is one of the most prolific and celebrated casting directors in American entertainment, working across film, television, theater, and commercials through his company The Telsey Office (formerly Telsey + Company), which he founded in 1988. He is a co-founder and Artistic Director of MCC Theater, and has cast landmark Broadway productions including Rent, Wicked, Hamilton, Hairspray, and In the Heights, as well as major films and TV shows. He has earned eight Emmy nominations, an Emmy win for 'Ugly Betty,' 55+ Artios nominations, an Independent Spirit Award for Margin Call, and the CSA's Hoyt Bowers Award (2016), and in 2025 made the inaugural Oscar shortlist for the new casting category. He serves as New York Vice President of the Casting Society of America and sits on the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
