Bill Lawrence (born William Van Duzer Lawrence IV, December 26, 1968) is one of television's most prolific creator-showrunners, best known for creating Scrubs and co-creating Spin City, Cougar Town, Ted Lasso, and Shrinking. His production company, Doozer Productions, operates under an overall deal with Warner Bros. Television Group through 2028. In 2026, his HBO comedy series Rooster starring Steve Carell premiered to strong reviews and was renewed for a second season, while he simultaneously shepherded Shrinking Season 3 and Bad Monkey Season 2.
