David Levien (born December 9, 1967) is an American screenwriter, director, producer, and novelist best known as co-creator, executive producer, and showrunner of Showtime's acclaimed financial drama Billions (2016โ€“2023), which he developed alongside longtime creative partner Brian Koppelman and Andrew Ross Sorkin. His feature film credits include Rounders, Ocean's Thirteen, Runaway Jury, Solitary Man, and Runner Runner. In 2025, he and Koppelman launched their next major project, The Roman, an eight-episode Las Vegas casino drama at Netflix executive produced by Martin Scorsese. He is also the author of six novels, including four in the Frank Behr crime series.
