Gareth Neame OBE is a Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning British television producer and executive, born 8 March 1967, and currently based in London. He has served as Chief Executive Officer of Carnival Films since 2004, selling the company to NBCUniversal in 2008 as the cornerstone of their international TV studio. He is best known for originating and executive producing the global phenomenon Downton Abbey — the most nominated non-US show in Emmy history — as well as The Last Kingdom, The Day of the Jackal, Lockerbie: A Search for Truth, and HBO's The Gilded Age. The fourth generation of a distinguished film dynasty, he was appointed OBE in 2016 for services to drama and honoured by the Producers Guild of America with the David L. Wolper Award for outstanding producer of long-form television.
