Jarin Blaschke ASC is a two-time Academy Award-nominated American cinematographer born September 28, 1978, in Westminster, California, best known for his long-running creative partnership with director Robert Eggers across five films: The Witch (2015), The Lighthouse (2019), The Northman (2022), Nosferatu (2024), and the forthcoming Werwulf (2026). His work is distinguished by desaturated palettes, practical candlelight and firelight, symmetrical compositions inspired by Renaissance painting, and a preference for 35mm film with vintage optics. He won the Independent Spirit Award and ASC Spotlight Award for The Lighthouse and the Critics' Choice Award for Best Cinematography for Nosferatu. Prior to his film career, he worked as a photojournalist and lighting designer for Vanity Fair and GQ, and has an extensive commercial portfolio including campaigns for Calvin Klein, Dior, Prada, Cadillac, and Canal+. He was formally inducted as a member of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) in April 2026 and is currently based in England.
