Jason Blum is the founder and CEO of Blumhouse Productions, an independent film and television production company he founded in 2000 that pioneered the micro-budget studio model, producing high-quality genre films with combined theatrical grosses exceeding $10 billion. He is a three-time Academy Award nominee (Whiplash, Get Out, BlacKkKlansman), a two-time Primetime Emmy Award winner (The Normal Heart, The Jinx), and a three-time Peabody Award winner. In 2024, Blumhouse merged with James Wan's Atomic Monster, and in 2026 Blum received the Producers Guild of America's Milestone Award for historic contributions to the entertainment industry. He has also expanded into Broadway, receiving a Tony Award nomination for Best Musical for Death Becomes Her (2024).
