Jessica Sharzer (born October 26, 1972) is an American screenwriter, director, producer, and editor known for crafting female-centric thrillers and genre-blending dramas. She made her feature directorial debut with Speak (2004), which premiered at Sundance and earned WGA and DGA nominations, and went on to write the screenplays for Nerve (2016), A Simple Favor (2018), and its sequel Another Simple Favor (2025). On television, she served as co-executive producer and writer on American Horror Story (FX), Nine Perfect Strangers (Hulu), and Amazing Stories (Apple TV+), earning three Primetime Emmy nominations. She is currently directing the thriller She Started It for Lyrical Media/Ryder Picture Company and is writing The Second Lady series adaptation for Prime Video.
