About

Jonas Katzenstein (born 1980, Cologne) is a German film producer and co-founder/CEO of augenschein Filmproduktion, which he established in 2008 alongside Maximilian Leo. Over nearly two decades, augenschein has grown into a driving force in international cinema, with a portfolio of over 30 acclaimed films spanning arthouse and elevated English-language genre fare, including 7500, Stowaway, Islands, The Assessment, Mother Mary (A24/David Lowery), The Weight (Ethan Hawke, Russell Crowe), and the in-production Flesh of the Gods (Kristen Stewart, directed by Panos Cosmatos). Katzenstein began his career as an audio engineer, founding the Cologne recording studio artaudio in 2004, before completing postgraduate training in fiction producing at the Filmhaus Cologne. He and his company operate independently, maintaining working relationships with all major Hollywood talent agencies and financing partners without formal representation.
