About
Julie Ann Gardner MBE is an award-winning Welsh television producer based in Los Angeles, best known for spearheading the 2005 revival of Doctor Who as BBC's Head of Drama for BBC Wales. In 2015, she co-founded Bad Wolf with Jane Tranter — the independent production company behind His Dark Materials, A Discovery of Witches, I Hate Suzie, The Winter King, and the current era of Doctor Who — and in 2019 founded sister company Bad Wolf America, whose debut title was Lady in the Lake (Apple TV+). She is the recipient of the BAFTA Cymru Outstanding Contribution to Television Award (2024), the Siân Phillips Award at BAFTA Cymru (2013), and was made an MBE in 2014 for her services to the growth of the television industry in Wales.
