About
Michael (Mike) Elliott is a Yorkshire-born UK film and television producer and co-founding partner of EMU Films, a Manchester and London-based independent production company established in 2012. Before transitioning to producing, he spent approximately 17 years as one of the most respected assistant directors in the UK, collaborating with filmmakers including Michael Winterbottom, Lynne Ramsay, Jane Campion, and Lars von Trier. Under his leadership, EMU Films has produced acclaimed titles including Catch Me Daddy (Cannes 2014), The Goob (Venice 2014), Jawbone (BAFTA-nominated), Steve McQueen's Small Axe (BAFTA and Golden Globe-winning), Terence Davies' Benediction, and Ian McShane thriller American Star (2024). EMU is currently developing a growing slate of higher-budget features and high-end television, with Ian McShane as a company investor.
