Nigel Marchant is an Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning producer who has spent his career at the forefront of British prestige drama. Having produced the first series of Downton Abbey and The Philanthropist for Carnival Films, he joined the company full-time in 2011 as Executive Producer, rising to Managing Director in 2017 and most recently promoted to Co-Executive Chair in May 2026 alongside founder Gareth Neame. Prior to Carnival, he accumulated nearly 20 years of production experience spanning six Hallmark miniseries, BBC and ITV dramas, and major studio features including Charlie Wilson's War and Sex and the City. His executive producer credits at Carnival include all five seasons of The Last Kingdom and its Netflix sequel Seven Kings Must Die, Belgravia, Belgravia: The Next Chapter, Jamestown, Lockerbie: A Search for Truth, All Her Fault, and The Day of the Jackal.
