Peter Chernin (born May 29, 1951) is an American film and television producer, businessman, and investor who served as President and COO of News Corporation and Chairman and CEO of the Fox Group from 1996–2009, overseeing Fox Filmed Entertainment and greenlighting Titanic and Avatar. In 2009, he founded Chernin Entertainment, which produced blockbuster franchises including Planet of the Apes, Hidden Figures, The Greatest Showman, and Ford v Ferrari. In 2022, he co-founded The North Road Company, a global multi-genre content studio, which was acquired by French media giant Mediawan in January 2026; Chernin joined the Mediawan board and serves as Non-Executive Chairman of North Road.
