Todd Black (born February 9, 1960, Dallas, TX) is one of Hollywood's most respected and prolific film and television producers, best known for his decades-long creative partnership with Denzel Washington. He co-founded Escape Artists in 2000 alongside Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch, an independently financed production company with a first-look deal at Sony Pictures Entertainment and MGM Television. His credits span Oscar-nominated prestige dramas including Fences (2017 Best Picture nominee), Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Being the Ricardos, and The Pursuit of Happyness, as well as major franchise action films like The Equalizer trilogy and The Magnificent Seven. Black began his career as a casting associate after attending USC's School of Dramatic Arts (BFA '82), and went on to serve as President of Motion Picture Production at Mandalay Entertainment before launching his own banner.
