A Night at Claridge's

A Night at Claridge's marks Whit Stillman's return to feature filmmaking after a decade, reuniting the Oscar-nominated director with Adam Brody following their collaborations on Damsels in Distress and The Cosmopolitans. The film stars Laura Carmichael in the lead role of Miss Roach, with supporting performances from Tom Bennett and Susan Hampshire. Based on Patrick Hamilton's 1947 novel The Slaves of Solitude, Stillman adapted the screenplay himself, bringing his signature focus on social dynamics to a wartime psychological drama. The production is being handled by SOS Productions Ltd, with producers Georgina Lowe, Valencia Haynes, and Suzanne Warren, alongside French co-producer Lauranne Bourrachot of Le Spectre. Altitude introduced the project to international buyers at the Cannes market in May 2026, with production aiming to begin by the end of the year.
