A Waiter in Paris
Project Summary
A Waiter in Paris marks the feature directorial debut of Peter Hoar, the Emmy-nominated director behind The Last of Us and It's a Sin. Leo Woodall leads the cast alongside Clémence Poésy in this adaptation of Edward Chisholm's bestselling memoir, with Ben Hopkins penning the screenplay. The film is produced by Jason Solomons through Movie Love Productions and Phin Glynn, with backing from BBC Film and co-financing from Curzon, Cineart, and Madman. The project was developed through the Curzon CM Development Fund and has already secured pre-sales to distributors in the UK, Benelux, and Australia. Production will shoot on location in Paris, with FullDawa Films providing production services. Cornerstone has acquired worldwide sales rights and is launching the project at the Cannes Film Market, co-repping the US with WME Independent. The story follows L'Anglais, a depressed thirty-something Englishman navigating the sharp-suited brotherhood of Parisian waiters, where nights of hedonism mask a world of precarity and exploitation.
