Alien: Earth
Project Summary
Alien: Earth is gearing up for its second season at Pinewood Studios in London, marking a homecoming to the facility where the original Alien trilogy was filmed. Showrunner Noah Hawley is currently in pre-production for the FX series, with filming scheduled to begin summer 2026. The move from Thailand, where season one was shot, positions the production for long-term sustainability at the legendary UK facility. Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage has joined the cast in a major role for the new season. Hawley has described season two as "a bigger show" with expanded world-building, and production designer Neil Lamont—son of Aliens production designer Peter Lamont—brings a direct connection to the franchise's legacy. Season one premiered in August 2025 on FX and Hulu to strong viewership, becoming FX's largest streaming premiere. With scripts largely completed and sets already under construction, the series is positioned to deliver its sophomore run with Hawley serving as showrunner alongside co-showrunners, though he will not direct this season due to his simultaneous work on the Far Cry series.
