Casper

Casper is returning to screens in a live-action series for Disney+. Rob Letterman and Hilary Winston, the executive producing team from Disney+'s Goosebumps, are writing and executive producing, with Letterman attached to direct. Steven Spielberg, who executive produced the 1995 Universal feature film, returns as an executive producer. The series is being produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, and DreamWorks Animation TV. Disney+ secured the project after a competitive five-way bidding war. Described as a modern update on the classic ghost story, the series is expected to carry a darker tone similar to Wednesday's approach to the Addams Family. The project is in early development with no production timeline or casting announcements yet.
