Ceasefire

Ceasefire is heading into production later in 2026, written and directed by Terry George, the Oscar-winning filmmaker behind Hotel Rwanda and In the Name of the Father. Chris O'Dowd stars as Niall O'Dowd, the Irish Voice founder who played a pivotal role in brokering secret communications between the IRA and the Clinton administration during the years leading to the 1994 ceasefire and the Good Friday Agreement. The cast includes Jane Fonda as US Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith, Ciarán Hinds as businessman Bill Flynn, John C. Reilly as Congressman Bruce Morrison, and Tom Hollander in an undisclosed role. The political thriller is produced by Trevor Birney's Fine Point Films and Patrick O'Neill's Wildcard, both Belfast and Dublin companies that recently collaborated on the acclaimed Kneecap. Principal photography is scheduled to take place in Ireland later this year, with Bankside Films handling worldwide sales and launching the project at the Cannes market in May 2026.
