Deathstroke and Bane

DC Studios is developing an untitled feature that pairs Batman villains Deathstroke and Bane, with Greg Mottola emerging as a frontrunner to direct. The project remains in early development under James Gunn and Peter Safran's leadership, with Matthew Orton (Moon Knight, Captain America: Brave New World) having penned an initial screenplay. Mottola, who directed episodes of Peacemaker Season 2, is among several filmmakers being considered, though no script has been finalized and no contracts have been signed. The film would mark Bane's return to live action for the first time since Tom Hardy's portrayal in The Dark Knight Rises. While the project was first announced in September 2024, it remains without a greenlight, and Gunn has indicated no DCU project moves forward without a completed script he's satisfied with. Production was previously reported for fall 2025 in the United Kingdom, though the current early development status suggests those plans may shift.
