First Christmas

First Christmas is a dark comedy feature from director Keith Wilhelm Kopp and writer Laurence Guy, headlined by Mark Addy alongside an ensemble cast including Russell Tovey, Eleanor Tomlinson, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Alex Horne. The character-driven story centers on a widower who gathers his adult children for the holidays, navigating grief, humor, and family tensions in the shadow of his late wife, a chef who made Christmas special. The project is produced by Luke Allen's Shropshire-based Ask Seek Knock, with executive producer Alyssa Roehrenbeck. The creative team previously earned a UK theatrical release and festival awards for their debut feature Translations, and received early development support from the BFI for this project. With partial financing secured, the film is being presented at the Cannes Film Market in May 2026 to complete its funding structure. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in Fall 2026, shooting primarily in Shropshire, England with a West Midlands-based crew.
