Ágata and Lola

Ágata and Lola is an eight-episode crime procedural series currently in production for Antena 3 and Atresplayer. The series centers on Chief Inspector Lola Castro, who leads the Homicide Unit of the Judicial Police in Vigo, and Ágata Díaz, a brilliant police archivist with autism whose promising criminology career was interrupted following a workplace crisis. When Lola asks Ágata to retrieve records for a seemingly straightforward suicide investigation, Ágata's exceptional memory and analytical skills uncover connections to additional cases, sparking an unlikely collaboration. Directors María Togores and Oriol Ferrer helm the production, with a writers' room led by Carlota Dans and Nina Hernández. The series is produced by Atresmedia in partnership with Portocabo, the Galicia-based production company backed by Banijay Entertainment and known for Hierro and Rapa. Production is underway in Vigo and surrounding areas, with the series marking a Spanish adaptation of the French series Astrid et Raphaëlle. The show emphasizes character relationships alongside procedural storytelling, with particular attention to portraying autism authentically through Ágata's late-in-life diagnosis.
