I Am Not Your Mother

I Am Not Your Mother is a psychological thriller currently in pre-production, with Carrie Coon, Ben Platt, and Lukas Gage attached to star. Craig Johnson directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ryan O'Connell. Platt plays Ollie, an up-and-coming queer director who becomes fixated on Nora Dresden, an iconic actress portrayed by Coon who is seeking a career comeback. When she agrees to headline his debut feature, admiration transforms into obsession, blurring the lines between artist and muse. Jared Ian Goldman and Zola Elgart Glassman produce through Mighty Engine, with co-financing from Unapologetic Projects and Working Barn Productions. Mister Smith Entertainment is launching international sales at the Cannes market in May 2026, with the project described as a darkly funny rework of classic 90s obsession thrillers that taps into contemporary stan culture and diva worship.
