John Doe

John Doe is an action thriller reuniting director David Ayer with star Jason Statham for their third collaboration, following The Beekeeper and A Working Man. Statham plays a man with no memory, no past, and no name—only haunted by the face of a woman named Eliza. As fragments of his identity return, he discovers he was trained for a mission still underway and is now hunted by his former handlers. Zak Penn wrote the screenplay, bringing blockbuster credentials from Ready Player One, The Avengers, and Free Guy. Miramax is producing and financing, with Statham producing through Punch Palace Productions alongside Penn and Paul Schiff. Black Bear will introduce the film to international buyers at the Cannes market in May 2026. Production is scheduled to begin in September 2026, marking another high-profile pairing in the action genre for both Ayer and Statham.
