Khal Nayak

Khal Nayak is in early development as a reimagining of the 1993 action-crime blockbuster. Sanjay Dutt, who starred in the original film, has partnered with producer Aksha Kamboj to acquire the rights from filmmaker Subhash Ghai and Mukta Arts. Jio Studios will present and produce the project, with Jyoti Deshpande overseeing creative direction. Dutt's Three Dimension Motion Pictures and Kamboj's Aspect Entertainment are co-producing, marking the first film venture for Aspect Entertainment. The format—whether remake, sequel, or entirely new narrative—has not yet been determined. At the announcement event in Mumbai, Dutt indicated that script development will take considerable time and that production will not proceed until the material is finalized. The original Khal Nayak was directed and produced by Subhash Ghai, featured Madhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff alongside Dutt, and became a defining Bollywood hit of the 1990s for its portrayal of a complex anti-hero.
