Last Dance

Last Dance reunites Brazilian director Karim Aïnouz with a music-driven dramatic narrative, pairing Oscar winner Adrien Brody as a Broadway composer with Golden Globe winner Rachel Zegler as his daughter in an intimate father-daughter story set against the AIDS crisis. The film is based on Emily Ziff Griffin's 2021 New Yorker essay and follows Elliot, who takes his adult daughter Emma on a gay cruise through the Caribbean in 1991. Tony winner Ben Platt co-stars and is composing original music for the project, with Zegler performing the songs. Fifth Season and Lynette Howell Taylor's 51 Entertainment are producing, with FilmNation Entertainment launching international sales at the Cannes market. The project marks Brody's first known role since winning his second Best Actor Oscar for The Brutalist.
