Lottery

Lottery is a character-driven drama moving forward at Searchlight Pictures with Keke Palmer and Zack Gottsagen attached to star. Thor Freudenthal will direct from a screenplay by Alexis C. Jolly, adapting Patricia Wood's 2007 novel. The project reunites Gottsagen with themes from his breakout role in The Peanut Butter Falcon, as he portrays a man with Down syndrome navigating newfound wealth and uncertain friendships. Palmer plays his travel companion with hidden agendas. David Permut produces for Permut Presentations alongside Jen Dana and Dan Crown, with Palmer also serving as executive producer. Searchlight has greenlit the project, though no production start date has been announced. The film marks another collaboration between Searchlight and Permut, whose recent Sundance hit The Invite sold to A24 for over $10 million.
