Mary Rose

Mary Rose is the second feature from Irish writer-director Colm Bairéad, following his Oscar and BAFTA-nominated The Quiet Girl. Zara Devlin leads the cast in this English-language period drama set in 1950s Ireland. The film is produced by Cleona Ní Chrualaoi through Dublin-based company Inscéal, with co-production from Belgium's Lemming Film and London's Gingerbread Pictures. Financing comes from Film4, Screen Ireland, mk2 Films, Eurimages, Screen Flanders, and RTÉ. Paris-based mk2 Films is handling sales and launched the project at Cannes 2026. Production is scheduled to shoot this summer in Ireland, with filming locations including Clare and Dublin. The project has secured distribution deals for the UK, Ireland, France, and Benelux territories.
