Only a handful of kids at the high school are invited to compete in a contest to win Atticus Virtures castle - and Max Winslow Is one of them - but Max would rather stay home with her computer than socialize with anyone. Nonetheless, she accepts the invite - and to her amazement - the evening turns into something quite unexpected, frightening and illuminating.
