Mindreader

Mindreader is about a performer, Dexter, in the late 1960's, who performed an act where he read people's minds from the stage. The local magician's association is unable to figure out how this is being accomplished and, out of jealousy, become determined to shut his act down which is growing in popularity. The story is told as a flashback when two reporters go to visit Caleb, who was his only assistant from that day over fifty years later in an attempt to write an article to honor this great act.
